Gott, J. Richard
Richard is a cosmologist and Professor of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. He is the innovative developer of two theories that seem like science fiction: time travel and the Doomsday argument. He has been working on the problems of large structures in the universe and the theory of creation of the universe. His work on gravity led him to several important theoretical discoveries, including a possibility for time travel to the past. Using these ideas, he developed a cosmological model that purports to show how the universe could be its own mother by means of some kind of (potentially permissible) time loop.Topic Videos
