Walsh, Roger

Roger is Professor of Psychiatry, Philosophy and Anthropology, University of California College of Medicine, Irvine. His research includes studies of Asian psychologies and philosophies, effects of meditation, transpersonal psychology, psychology of religion, and psychology of human survival (exploring psychological causes of global crises). A long-time serious practitioner of mediation, he combines third-person, objective, Western scientific medicine with first-person, intuitive, Eastern inner experience. He is the author of Essential Spirituality: The 7 Central Practices to Awaken Heart and Mind, and Paths Beyond Ego: The Transpersonal Vision.
